With the opening of offices in London and in Brussels, Noerr impressively underlined its advance to become one of the top European law firms, is how the jury justified the awards. "We have consistently advanced the expansion of our strategic business areas and the integrated advice by practice groups in recent years", emphasised Dr. Tobias Bürgers, Co-Speaker of the law firm. The Juve Award as “Law firm of the Year for M&A" is the second award in this category. In 2010, Juve Verlag honoured Noerr for outstanding services in transaction advice. This year, Noerr has already been nominated at the international level as “German Legal Adviser of the Year" in the Mergermarket European M&A Awards. “Noerr has made the breakthrough in the international transaction business" commented the Juve jury on the achievements of the transaction practice and emphasised the representation of Telekom in the takeover of GTS Central Europe. Foreign investors also increasingly avail of the law firm’s services in M&A transactions. Noerr has also consistently and successfully established a sector concentration on the financial sector. An example is advising ABN Amro on the purchase of the German private banking business of Credit Suisse. Only recently, the British publisher Legalease also selected the law firm in the "Legal Business Awards" as "International Firm of the Year 2014". Budapest Office Head, Zoltán Nádasdy commented by saying: "We are confident that Noerr in Budapest has also made some contribution to winning this prestigious recognition in Germany. Our Hungarian lawyers were also acting on the transaction for Deutsche Telekom last year and we regularly advise major German corporate and financial investors in domestic and cross-border matters. The importance of German investments in Hungary cannot be underestimated as we speak". Frankfurt, 24 October 2014. (x)
