A turnaround at the pumps at last: Hungary's Mol to cut fuel prices

Hungarian oil and gas group Mol will lower the wholesale list price of 95-octane gasoline by HUF 3 per litre and the price of diesel by HUF 2 per litre as of Wednesday, the company said on Monday.
  • The average price of gasoline and diesel will be HUF 364 and HUF 369 per litre, respectively.
  • The last time Mol changed the price of gasoline was on 31 January, when it hiked the price of gasoline by HUF 2 to HUF 367 per litre, while it kept the price of diesel on hold at HUF 371.
  • Motorists may find differences of up to HUF 50 per litre at the pumps, depending on the location and pricing strategy of the given petrol station.
  • The average price of gasoline reached its peak in early April 2012 at HUF 451 and the price of diesel was the highest at HUF 449 on average in mid-January 2012.
