Germany’s Bosch is to further develop its plant manufacturing electronic parts for the automotive sector in Hatvan, 60 kilometres east of Budapest. Robert Bosch Elektronika Kft. is to embark on a 9.6 billion forint (EUR 30.34 mn) investment project to buy new equipment facilitating more advanced manufacturing, announced Péter Szijjártó, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, in Budapest on Thursday.
Szijjártó noted that that Hatvan-based factory of Bosch produces technological devices and components that will determine the future of driving and that are indispensable for automated driving.

He added that the government has granted HUF 1.2 billion (EUR 3.8 mn) non-refundable subsidy for the project that will be completed by the end of 2020.

Bosch announced last month the launch of an over HUF 14 bn (EUR 43.56 million) investment project at the Miskolc-based (northern Hungary) plant of Robert Bosch Energy and Body Systems Ltd. In the project that will span through 2021, the company will be installing production lines of new-generation products and test machinery.

It was either the second major investment announced by Bosch recently, or the same one that was revealed in December 2018.
