Hungary ÁKK to have new chief

Hungary’s Government Debt Management Agency (ÁKK) is to have a new head as of 1 November 2017, the Economy Ministry has announced on Friday.
As of 1 November this year, the Central Administration of National Pension Insurance (ONYF) will be amalgamated into the organisation of the ÁKK, and the head of the merged institution will be József Mészáros, Director General of the ONYF, who is also government commissioner in charge of restructuring the ÁKK, the ministry said in a statement.

Mészáros will be replacing József Dancsó who has been leading the ÁKK since 2014.

The activities of the treasury have recently been expanded significantly. Besides the integration of the ONYF, the ÁKK has been in charge of EU farming and rural development paying agency activities, as the legal successor of the Agricultural and Rural Development Office (MVH), since 1 January 2017, and it is also has the duty of carrying out certain tasks regarding local agricultural and rural development subsidies.
