The biggest annual conference of chief financial and operative officers of Hungarian companies will take place on June 8th in Hilton Budapest, located in the Buda Castle. Portfolio and the Hungarian Credit Management Group will organize Business and Finance Summit for the first time this year, during which the internationally recognized CFO of the year award will also be presented. In addition to networking opportunities, we will be examining the most important operational and financial issues of domestic companies through high quality presentations, case studies and panel discussions. This unique conference, organized specifically for companies, will give the opportunity for the leaders of companies in a similar situation to discuss their experiences.

The key focus of the conference will be credit management, which is one of the most dynamically developing function of domestic firms and a determining factor of companies’ sales strategies. During the conference, we will also be addressing the actualities of macroeconomy, corporate finance, taxation, HR and digitalization, covering topics that are the most pressing for the leaders of the Hungarian corporate sector.

He was born in 1963, in Győr. Married, dad of 3 children. From 2004 he is the Finance Vice president of Rába Automotive Holding Plc., and the Financial Director of Rába Axle Ltd. Between 1984 and 1992 he was the head of production and accounting (1988) the Chief accountant (1991) of Rába Ltd. After he worked by Hungarian Credit Bank, where form 1996 he was the Network Manager. From 1997 he worked as Regional manager of Abn-Ambro Bank int he central region of the country, and from 1999 he was the regional manager of Postabank in the North-West region of Hungary. He is an economist, chartered accountant and he has got the tax advisor special examination also. He has done a lot of special courses for finance and accounting. In 1993 he has done a management course at Acadia University in Canada.

Patrick O. Connelly, Ph.D. CCE, FICM, CGBP is the CEO and founder of the Tao Institute for Credit and Risk Management, a consulting company based in Clearwater Florida ,USA and Shanghai, in the People’s Republic of China. Dr. Connelly brings to the profession extensive experience in trade credit risk management and has introduced the concept around the world, from 2004 to 2014 introducing the concept of credit and professional certification programs to the People’s Republic of China. Most recently joining the boards of director of the Association for Credit in Central and Eastern Europe, the professor has committed to assist in the expansion of the profession and programs in the region. Prior to establishing the consulting company and the institute the author held executive positions with such notable global entities as Tech Data Corporation, Sperry Corporation (later Unisys), and Wang Laboratories. He began his corporate management career with consumers, in 1975 at Porteous, Mitchell, and Braun, a Maine-based regional retailer at its corporate headquarters in Portland, Maine. Professor Connelly holds a Doctorate in Global Trade Strategy from Sacramento International University, an MBA from the University of South Florida and an honors baccalaureate in History and French from the University of Texas at Austin. His professional credentials include Charter Certification as a Global Business Professional (NASBITE), the Certified Credit Executive and International Executive Awards (US NACM and FCIB), and is recognized as a Fellow of the British Chartered Credit Management Association (CICM). He is also the recipient of the prestigious Centurion Award for Leadership in International Trade.

Director of Corporate Strategy since 2016, Chief Operating Officer since 2017. Began his professional career as a macro analyst, worked as an economist for the National Bank of Hungary and the European Central Bank. He later joined Aegon Asset Management where he worked as a fund manager and the head of the fixed income desk. He served as the state secretary in charge of taxation and the financial sector at the Minisrty for National Economy for two and a half years, followed by a year spent at Banque Rothschild where he worked as a consultant. He earned is MA degree at the Budapest University of Economics and studied also in the United States. Besides Hungarian he speaks English, French and German.

We do not send any kind of ticket or voucher. Each participant is added to the conference registration list upon online check-in, which also includes the lecturers and the sponsors' guests. The participants will only need a business card and a signature at the conference location, when entering the event at the registration desk.

We will send a confirmation email in the case of online registration. (The data and the "Conditions of Registration, Payment and Cancellation" have to be accepted during registration.) We will send a Fee Requesting Notice by email based on the data that are approved in the course of registration after the acceptance the "Conditions of Registration, Payment and Cancellation". The fee has to be paid within 8 workdays of the confirmation of the registration. The invoice will be issued after payment. We will post the invoice to you to the address that is given in the registration. An online application is classified as an order. Paying the participation fee in advance is a prerequisite of participating at the event. We accept cancellations and provide a full refund - EXCLUSIVELY IN WRITING at the address of - till 12 hours on the fifth workday before the event. In the case of cancellations made after this time the participation may be assigned, but the complete fee has to be paid. We are not in a position to accept cancellations made via phone or in any other verbal form. It is not possible to cancel participation in the case of registrations that are made after the cancellation deadline. In the case of registrations made 1 or 2 workdays before the event it may happen that the transfer of the participation fee will not be credited to our bank account yet, therefore in this case it is possible to transfer the fee on the first workday after the event. Since online applications are classified as orders, we are not in a position to accept ex post complaints - including absence from the event, because of the lack of transferring the fee - after the cancellation deadline. The complete fee has to be paid in this case as well - provided no written cancellation was received by us till the cancellation deadline.
