Passenger traffic grows 11% at Budapest Airport in November
In November, 1,552,078 passengers travelled through Liszt Ferenc International Airport, which was an increase of 10.8% compared to the same period last year.

The total number of passengers for the first eleven months of the year (17,985,420) showed an increase of 11.8% compared to 2024.

In early December, the airport reached a new milestone: Total annual passenger traffic reached 19 million for the first time in the airport's history.
Budapest Airport said in a statement.
Not that it matters an awful lot, but... this would mean that more than one million passengers travelled through the airport by "early December". That would be a lot, considering the end-November figure and that the previous record was 1.49 million in December 2024 - for the full month that is. But let's not get hung up on a few days or such trivial things as numbers. 19 million sounds amazing, regardless of whether this milestone was reached in "early December", mid-December or the end of the year... Or it could be that by "total annual passener traffic" BudAir meant the 12-month figure, i.e. it added December 2024 to January-November this year, in which case we get 19,479,368 passengers.
Passenger numbers have been higher than in any of the years since 2018 throughout the year. The black and dark blue lines show the pandemic years of 2020 and 2021.

The upward trend in the cargo business continued in November. The cargo volume of 40,406 tonnes was nearly 30% higher than last year.

The 389,159 tonnes of goods handled in the first eleven months was 43.1% higher than in January-November last year.

The graph below clearly shows that the coronavirus pandemic did not put a dent in cargo traffic at all, and that 2025 was an exceptional year for Budapest Airport.

The charts below show the evolution of passenger and cargo traffic side by side for this year and on a longer scale.
