Exceptional snow conditions: Mol Hungary speaks out on fuel supply

Exceptional snow conditions in the region are temporarily slowing down some of Mol Group's rail freight shipments. These transport difficulties are affecting the transfer of raw materials and products between Mol's sites in Bratislava and Hungary. However, according to a statement released by the company, the situation is under control.

Mol's sites in Bratislava and Hungary handle over 100,000 tonnes of goods per month, equating to an average of four to six train shipments per day. According to the announcement, a total of five sites in Hungary are involved in ensuring the functioning of the supply chain at various points across the country: the Danube Refinery in Százhalombatta, the Tisza Refinery, and the logistics units in Szajol, Komárom, and Pécs.

With regard to security of supply, they emphasise that Mol is doing everything in its power to prevent any disruptions.

Hungary's fuel supply is currently secure, with the population and economy being served without interruption.

Mol has enlisted the help of the operational task force led by the Ministry of the Interior to manage the situation, and is working closely with railway company MÁV.

According to the announcement, obstacles caused by snow are being continuously removed, rail traffic is returning to normal and the country's fuel supply is secure.
