The government is increasing the budget for EXIM loan schemes offered through the Demján Sándor Programme to HUF 900 billion. The budget was first raised by HUF 100 bn to HUF 600 billion in early October and further to HUF 700 bn in mid-November last year.

In a Facebook post, Economy Minister Márton Nagy said that this step would further increase the competitiveness and export performance of Hungarian businesses. As he writes, the goals of the Sándor Demján Programme are:

  1. doubling the size of SMEs;
  2. encouraging exports;
  3. supporting the operation of domestic businesses;
  4. promoting their investments; and
  5. increasing their international competitiveness.

We are increasing the extremely popular EXIM schemes available under the Demján Sándor Programme by HUF 200 billion, raising the total from HUF 700 billion to HUF 900 billion,

he announced.

As he writes, they decided to:

  • increase the credit line for current asset purchases and investments by HUF 100 billion,
  • the credit line for leasing loans by HUF 40 billion,
  • and the credit line for investment and green investment loans by HUF 60 billion.

These loans are available to Hungarian SMEs at favourable interest rates, which will also help their development.
