Planet Expo and Conference – Agrarium in the grip of climate change

25th February 2026 Hungarian Railway Museum
Climate change has become a strategic economic issue, with the most direct impacts on agriculture. The first day of Planet Expo and Conference on Agriculture will look at specific answers on how to sustain domestic agricultural and food production in a changing climate and economic environment. For the third time one of the most important sustainability events in Central Europe, Planet Budapest 2026 Expo and Experience Programme. An event that explores the theme of sustainability in an experiential way and presents the latest green solutions in a way that visitors can understand. As part of Planet Expo 2026, organised by the Blue Planet Climate Foundation, two days of the Planet Conference will focus on the sustainable economy and agriculture, as well as on clean energy and the energy sector, helping the Hungarian economy to make the green transition and achieve climate neutrality goals. On the first day of the conference, we will look at the ecological economics approach and seek answers to the challenges of the sector most exposed to climate change, agriculture. The morning will focus on EU and domestic funding opportunities, how agriculture can raise funds, and the physical climate risks that financial support can address (e.g. drought, flash floods). The conference will also focus on the latest trends in sustainable agriculture and the food industry: best examples of regenerative farming, innovative inputs, i.e. input materials used in production (e.g. seeds, pesticides). From production, through the value chain, to food processing and waste management, we will look at the sustainable opportunities, as well as the obstacles ahead. Sustainability is a complex economic and social system that does not involve a single sector but a wide range of economic actors. In this system, cross-sectoral cooperation, knowledge sharing and joint solution finding are particularly valued - this is the dialogue that the Planet Conference aims to strengthen. The Planet Expo and Conference is free to attend but registration is required.

Digital Compliance 2026

3rd March 2026 Radisson Blu Béke Hotel
Compliance professionals face ever-changing challenges in their organisations. This is often an unpopular role, as new regulations, new technology trends and dynamic market expectations require a company's organisation and operations to constantly adapt. The effectiveness of adaptation directly affects competitiveness. It is now clear that the compliance profession is multidisciplinary: in addition to legal knowledge, it requires business, communication and technological competences. Artificial intelligence is also a powerful tool for managing change, as it is obviously not a substitute for experts, but it is a tool that allows for faster, more accurate and more efficient compliance. So the compliance professional of the future will not just react to change, but will turn it into a strategic advantage by leveraging the support of smart technologies.  This year, AI will also be at the heart of the conference in the sense that AI is creating new markets and has transformed business models in almost every market: this presents new business opportunities and new compliance challenges. Every year at the Compliance Professionals Annual Spring Conference, we provide new examples of how compliance with external and internal regulations can not only avoid risks and fines, but can also provide significant market advantage. Companies that operate transparently and legally are more likely to build trust with their customers, partners and investors, which has a direct impact on long-term success and profit growth.  In 2026, Portfolio and Wolters Kluwer will once again jointly organise a conference where we will explore the most topical issues in the key legal and regulatory areas that shape the way companies operate in the digital space.  The technical programme and networking opportunities will provide participants with an excellent opportunity to learn about the business opportunities and risks of the future.

Retail Day 2026

4th March 2026 Radisson Blu Béke Hotel
For the retail sector, 2026 will mark a new turning point: while consumer habits and expectations are constantly changing, the macroeconomic environment, regulatory changes and technological innovations will also fundamentally reshape the industry. It is no longer a question of whether to adapt, but how and how fast players can turn this into a competitive advantage. The new economy is also changing the global economy, changing macroeconomic and regulatory trends, and the changing business environment. The Portfolio Retail Day 2026 aims to be a meeting point for key decision-makers, managers and professionals in the retail market, not only to look at the challenges of today, but also to seek answers to the questions that will shape the future. The 2026 event will continue to take a cross-sectoral approach, with players from FMCG, fashion, fuel retail, e-commerce and luxury goods sharing their experiences across a range of segments. The event will also take a cross-sectoral approach in 2026. At 2026, special attention will be paid to improving the omnichannel customer experience, the practical application of Retail Tech - especially Artificial Intelligence - and optimising and making supply chains sustainable. Other important topics will include mapping new consumer journeys, the impact of digital sales models and the platform economy, as well as labour market changes, organisational culture renewal and new directions in retail leadership. A new focus will also look at the full spectrum of the manufacturing and supply chain - from raw material sourcing to product introduction - as competitiveness is increasingly determined by the efficiency of the underlying processes. Portfolio Retail Day 2026 will offer more than just a conference: it will provide an unrivalled opportunity to network, inspire and share industry knowledge. Whether it's a physical store network, e-commerce or a hybrid model, this event is for those who want to not only survive, but thrive and lead the next era of retail.

Automotive industry 2026

26th–27th March 2026 Kölcsey Központ
The automotive industry accounts for a significant share of Hungary's GDP and has long played a key role in the Hungarian economy. However, in recent years, not only has the number of automotive manufacturing companies entering the sector increased, but so have the challenges associated with the industry. The need for a green transition can no longer be ignored and the global crises of recent years - including the vulnerability of supply chains, geopolitical tensions and the energy crisis and the increased role of Chinese manufacturers in Hungary - continue to have a significant impact. The industry is currently undergoing major transformation, accompanied by consideration uncertainty: which powertrain technology will prevail in the future, how major markets will respond to trade and customs regulations, what innovations can be expected and ultimately, how European automotive companies can remain competitive in an increasingly turbulent industry environment? This year, the most important domestic OEMs, buyers, and suppliers will meet in Debrecen - let us learn from them, and from each other, by sharing best practices, followd by a dinner, evening programme, networking and accommodation, after the professional sessions. On the second day of the conference, factory visits to several nearby locations will be organised by shuttle bus. The optional factory visit is included in the registration fee. Departure times are 9:00 and 11:00, so TWO LOCATIONS MAY BE CHOSEN during online registration!

Private Health Forum 2025

30th September 2025 Marriott Hotel, Budapest
A new optimum is beginning to emerge in Hungarian healthcare. The private sector has truly found its footing, driven by continuous developments and investments, with an ever‑wider array of specialities and a parallel increase in complexity. At the same time, a recovery in consumer demand—driven by improving consumer sentiment and the easing of inflation—was essential, and it is no less significant that the public healthcare system shows no signs of improvement, prompting growing calls for substantive intervention for a comprehensive reform of Hungarian healthcare. In this context and operating environment, the sector’s most influential players, key opinion leaders, foremost figures, and the leading representatives of the ecosystem surrounding private healthcare companies will convene at the ninth Private Health Forum. Our invited speakers and the hundreds of professional participants will discuss in multiple concurrent sessions, for example, the future direction of the domestic healthcare system, how this will impact the operations of private providers, which segments of the sector could be the relative winners or losers in the coming period, where capacity should be increased, where significant growth potential still exists, and where the market is already saturated and competition is fierce. Naturally, we will also showcase the latest trends and indeed lead the market in these areas by placing a strong emphasis on innovative digital solutions, the importance of prevention, and the shared responsibility of individuals and professionals in maintaining health. Portfolio Sustainable World 2025

4th September 2025 Marriott Hotel, Budapest
With unwavering momentum and growing interest and participation, we now traditionally host the Sustainable World 2025 conference dedicated to the companies of the future. Six years ago, at the first Sustainable World Conference, the weight and critical role of sustainability efforts and solutions in the economy were observed with curious eyes. By now, however, they have undoubtedly become an integral part of business and corporate strategies. The business world is constantly forced to adapt and innovate in response to challenges such as regulatory changes, geopolitical tensions, transition and physical climate risks, and shifting consumer and investor demands. Quick response, adaptation, and resilience are key concepts that companies have been compelled to experience from multiple perspectives. The maturity of the domestic market is well reflected in the growing number of players who recognise the advantages of being at the forefront of sustainability and approaching the future with a solid foundation. The event has become a primary forum and meeting place for key players in the green industry: those who shape the green economy with a strategic mindset and commitment. The Sustainable World Conference addresses the most pressing industry-specific issues, those that are currently driving discussions among economic players in the fields of ESG and sustainability. The conference’s must-cover topics include ESG – from regulation and reporting to strategic aspects – green financing opportunities, expectations of the financial sector, forward-looking investment decisions, the latest developments in the green energy market, energy efficiency, green transportation, urban planning, and the green building sector. In 2025, the main topics will include sustainable communication, integrating ESG into marketing strategies, and the education of sustainability and ESG experts. We will address changing consumer habits, the transformation of corporate strategies, as well as labour market issues and the green challenges of the manufacturing sector. Cost and energy-efficient operations, increasing competitiveness, sustainability goals and specific actions, as well as the long-term retention of customer and partner trust, provide the unique knowledge and strategy that serve as a "green card" to becoming one of the companies of the future. This was our Sustainable World 2024 conference:

The next EU budget cycle is not just about technical details of funding allocation — it will fundamentally shape how the EU addresses regional disparities, manages the green and digital transitions, and reinforces solidarity between Member States. At this final event in Brussels, we will present the full package of outcomes from the EUYOU project – including key findings from our survey on cohesion policy and the policy recommendations developed as part of the project. The event will focus on the preparation of the 2028–2034 Multiannual Financial Framework. We will explore how the new cycle could respond to current challenges, reshape the use of cohesion funds, and what kind of political consensus might emerge on how it is implemented. This event is a unique opportunity to meet EU policymakers, policy experts, and researchers in person, and to engage in a dialogue on building a fairer, more efficient and more transparent Europe.

Preparation for the 2028–2034 EU budgetary cycle may introduce new approaches to distributing EU funds. At the heart of the debate lies the strengthened application of the principle of subsidiarity, that is, to what extent it would be more effective to allocate EU funds directly to local actors, primarily municipalities, partially or entirely bypassing the member states as intermediaries. The issue is not merely technical but deeply political: who should exercise control over EU funds, and how can their efficient, transparent, and successful use be guaranteed? At the webinar, renowned experts, representatives of EU institutions, and domestic policymakers will jointly analyse the opportunities inherent in decentralising resource allocation. The discussion will cover the background to the budgetary reform, experiences to date, and proposals related to the preparation of the new MFF. The resource allocation principles of the next EU budgetary cycle will determine the role of local levels in the EU’s development policy. The webinar will help viewers navigate the key subjects of debate surrounding the forthcoming financial framework and provide insight into the potential direction of EU funding policy in the early years of the next decade. The EUYOU project aims to present changes in EU funding policies in an accessible manner, with a particular focus on cohesion policy, the Just Transition Fund, the Technical Support Instrument, and elements of the Next Generation EU programme, including the RRF and REPowerEU.

Digital Compliance 2025

6th May 2025 Radisson Blu Béke Hotel
Today, businesses can no longer avoid compliance with external and internal regulations— but is this merely a mandatory administrative task, or can it be a strategic advantage? We might not even realise how many areas compliance influences in a company’s daily operations, such as: E-commerce and online customer service Selecting suppliers and partners Financial transactions and accounting activities IT operations and software licensing Cybersecurity Data management and data protection processes Back office activities Compliance with external and internal regulations not only helps avoid risks and penalties but can also provide significant market advantages. Companies that operate transparently and in compliance with regulations find it easier to build trust among their customers, partners, and investors, directly impacting long-term success and profit growth. The conference's panel discussions, presentations, and interactive programmes will excitingly illuminate these topics while showcasing real-life examples of how compliance can become a true competitive advantage in business. We will discuss why regulations do not have to hinder innovation and how they can support rapid growth. Additionally, we will discuss why selecting the right LegalTech tools is essential for a company’s legal and regulatory processes. In 2025, Portfolio and Wolters Kluwer will once again organise a joint conference where we will explore the most relevant legal and regulatory areas that define companies' presence in the digital space. The professional programmes and networking opportunities provide an excellent occasion for participants to explore future business opportunities and risks. Take part in the active dialogue between the legal, business, IT, and cybersecurity fields.

The energy crisis that erupted in 2022 as a result of the Russian-Ukrainian war highlighted the crucial role of EU funds not only in economic convergence but also in achieving energy independence and accelerating the green transition. In response to the crisis, the European Union launched the Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF) and introduced the RePowerEU programme as a complementary targeted instrument to support the expansion of renewable energy sources and the development of energy networks. At our event, we will focus on the new energy dimension of EU funding, along with the related policy and development directions. Why should you join? The current geopolitical and economic situation has posed new challenges for the EU, prompting responses with new financial instruments and policy approaches.  Ongoing professional discussions and reform processes may shape the future direction of EU funding—particularly in relation to the energy transition. The event is an excellent opportunity for those who want to prepare in time for the new grant and development environment.   The EUYOU project aims to present changes in EU funding policies in an accessible manner, with a special focus on cohesion policy, the Just Transition Fund, the Technical Support Instrument, and elements of the Next Generation EU programme, including the RRF and RePowerEU.
