Andrew Gardner
Andrew was a Founder of Doctorlink and is a Special Advisor to Doctorlink, Doctorlink Innovations as well as being Chair of Medvivo Group. Doctorlink is the only digital software solution designed to alleviate pressures on GP surgeries and enables GPs to manage their patients’ needs whilst saving time and money. By using Doctorlink Innovations’ online symptom assessment algorithms, the patient is able to gain an understanding of whether they need to be seen and how quickly. Doctorlink also provides a fully integrated appointment booking and prescription management system. Medvivo Group Ltd provides integrated health and care services ranging from GP out of hours services, a single point of access, crisis response services and a wide range of technology enabled care solutions. In January 2019, Medvivo retained its CQC rating of “Outstanding” which was originally awarded in February 2017. Andrew started his career in the IT sector, however seeking an improved work/life balance decided to work for a smaller UK organisation. This company won a major customer: NHS Direct, therefore providing Andrew with his first insight into the NHS! In 2004 he led the creation of a joint venture between a GP Co-op and an IT service provider which could provide Out of Hours services; Harmoni was established become the largest independent sector provider of Primary Care services to the NHS. Harmoni was sold to Care UK in 2012. In 2013 Andrew joined Appello, an organisation delivering traditional Telecare services where he led the business to deliver a more integrated wellbeing proposal to their elderly customers. Andrew was appointed Chairman of the TSA (the Telecare Services Association) in 2014 and held this position until June 2017.
