Insurance 2026

17th March 2026 Marriott Hotel, Budapest
The Hungarian insurance market will reach a turning point in 2026: the transformation of the regulatory environment, the final phase of the implementation of the Ethical 2.0 framework, and the rapid advance of technology and AI-based innovations represent both a major challenge and a new growth opportunity. The strategic directions of the government and the MNB - including the introduction of individual TKM, the higher return potential expectation of unit-linked recommendation, and the full implementation of product supervision rules - are strongly shaping the life insurance market. The conference will also focus on the experience and expectations of the March home insurance campaign, pricing and mobility trends shaping the future of motor insurance, and the practical challenges of digital and AI-driven solutions such as automated claims settlement, personalised pricing and cyber compliance. 2026 will also be a defining year for vendors and intermediaries as digitisation, regulatory expectations and changing customer needs demand a new operating model. The conference's panel discussions, presentations and interactive programmes will provide practical guidance on how to create more transparent, customer-centric sales, manage the transformation of intermediary channels and identify new business opportunities. In keeping with Portfolio's tradition, the event will explore issues relevant not only to insurers, but also to insurance intermediaries, brokers, legal and consulting firms, IT service providers and other suppliers, while providing an excellent networking platform for industry players to inform strategic decisions in 2026.

Portfolio Lending 2025

22nd May 2025 Marriott Hotel
2024 was the year of retail lending: central bank interest rate cuts, the emergence of deferred demand, and new government housing support measures led to record demand in the real estate and consumer loan markets. The dynamic growth could continue this year as both regulators and market participants work to ensure that the expansion remains sustainable.  In contrast, corporate lending was more subdued in 2024 due to a decline in demand and economic uncertainty. The question is whether a financing boom will return in 2025, particularly in the second half of the year, and whether SMEs and large companies will gain momentum. What supported schemes and market mechanisms could help facilitate this process?  The Portfolio Lending 2025 conference is once again the sector's most important event, where banking decision-makers, loan brokers, legal and advisory partners, as well as IT service providers, will share the latest market insights and strategies. The professional programme, featuring panel discussions, presentations, and networking opportunities, helps market participants prepare for the business and regulatory opportunities and challenges ahead in the coming year.

Portfolio Insurance 2025

4th March 2025 Marriott Hotel, Budapest
The Hungarian insurance market is facing new challenges and opportunities in 2025. The strategic and regulatory plans of the government and MNB might exert a significant impact on the operation of the sector. For instance, industry players are preparing for the Ethical Insurance 2.0 life insurance regulation, the practical questions of the transition and its expected results. The conference will include a session on the March housing insurance campaign, the second major mobilisation of the sector this year. In addition, AI-based, technological, and product innovations will be in the spotlight as they can open new horizons for Hungarian insurers. Moreover, issues concerning the future of motor vehicle insurance will also be on the agenda. 2025 promises to be a critical year for sellers and brokers as digitalisation and changing customer needs bring new challenges to these areas. The panel discussions, lectures, and interactive programmes of the conference will cover these topics as well, allowing key players in the industry to discuss strategic steps together. In keeping with Portfolio’s traditions, the event will address questions that are relevant not only for insurers but insurance brokers, legal and consultant companies, IT service providers, and other suppliers as well. The networking opportunities available to participants offer a valuable chance to explore the business possibilities and risks of the future.

Trends in Receivables Management 2024

18th September 2024 Radisson Blu Béke Hotel
Reuniting the Debt Collection Industry Again! The joint half-day conference on receivables management by Portfolio and EOS is a significant domestic professional event now in its 9th year. This September, leading experts will provide practical financial, legal, and technological advice to enhance the competitiveness of debt collection processes. Speaking of competitiveness, this year’s professional programme will focus on the application of AI and digitalisation solutions in debt collection. When used in customer communication while complying with GDPR principles, these technologies can significantly improve cost efficiency and customer management if used effectively. But how can it be done the right way? At the conference, we will hear about some international examples and best practices on how to apply generative AI in debt collection processes. The EOS Debtor Customer Survey 2024 will be presented, which examines over 500,000 unsecured cases managed in Hungary in 2023. The study compares these findings not only with the previous year’s data but also with figures from before the 2019 pandemic. The conference will also cover AFR2, ESG, payment risk analysis, preventing business insolvency, and, if the damage has already occurred, the restructuring procedures that can now be initiated in Hungary. Be a part of the knowledge sharing with debt collection professionals!

Future of Finance 2024

17th September 2024 Radisson Blu Béke Hotel
For a long time, artificial intelligence was a distant concept, then suddenly, it burst into our lives, with the potential to radically change not just technology but the business world. Where will it take us, what role will AI play in finance? At our Future of Finance 2024 conference, in addition to this subversive trend, we will also address “traditional finances” updates and their short-term future. We will discuss the rise of non-debt business financing, the transformation of retail lending, and the prospects for the latest international payment trends. Similarly to previous years, we will hand out the CFO of the Year award at this conference, acknowledging the role of financial leaders in shaping our financial future. On the investment side, assets under management for high-net-worth clients have surged recently, mainly due to the favourable capital market environment. But what will happen when the market bubble bursts, where will domestic operators be able to attract fresh money when the customer base is apparently no longer growing in any meaningful way? Meanwhile, interest payments on retail government bonds will be even higher in 2025 compared to the past, with the state paying out approximately HUF 1,300 billion on premium government bonds alone. Will domestic fund managers and brokerage firms be able to attract the capital released from government bonds? What will be the investment hit product in 2025 if the Premium Hungarian Government Bond interest rate falls below 5%? We will discuss all of these topics at the Future of Finance 2024 conference.

Lending 2024

14th May 2024 Marriott Hotel, Budapest
2023 was the most difficult year for the credit market since the 2008 financial crisis. A multitude of regulatory interventions have transformed the image of lending, some of which may be with us in 2024 in an amplified form, and some of which we may gradually say goodbye to. What interest rates, demand, customer expectations and technological innovations should market players and customers prepare for in 2024? How will the new credit market cycle differ from the previous one for large corporate and SME loans, real estate loans, and consumer loans? In line with Portfolio’s traditions, interesting panel discussions, presentations, and networking possibilities enable the audience of our Lending 2024 conference, held in the spring, to discuss the future’s business opportunities and risks. In addition to banks, insurance brokers, legal and consultant partners, IT companies and other suppliers may also be interested in the information and opinions provided at the event.

GEN Z Fest 2024

9th May 2024 Akvarium Klub
Lately, we hear almost everywhere that we need to rely on and listen to Generation Z if we wish to make significant changes. It's not a small burden, but the fact is that members of this generation are brave, ready to take action, and willing to change ingrained patterns. The skills are there, but experience and money are missing. Among other things, this is the aim of the Gen Z Fest series: to clarify basic concepts with the help of experienced professionals and introduce Gen Z to opportunities and directions to help them enter their adult years with confidence. These professionals are not distant, mannered, or dressed in suits. The speakers and participants of the Gen Z Fest approach each topic in a relaxed, taboo-free, and understandable way, be it spending, income, renting or buying a home, artificial intelligence or even environmental protection. The topics are important, but the opinion of Gen Z on them is even more so. For this reason, at Gen Z Fest, the audience does not only listen, but can ask questions and debate too. Come to the conference and live your adult years with more confidence!

Insurance 2024

27th February 2024 Marriott Hotel, Budapest
The Hungarian insurance industry is going through one of the most difficult periods in its recent history. Besides the several EU and supervisory regulatory challenges, the government has started to look at the sector as a strategic branch, with its ownership and regulatory implications. A real novelty among these is the March home insurance campaign, the launch of which will be immediately preceded by the Portfolio Insurance 2024 conference, so it will be a really hot topic. There will also be much discussion on new approaches to life insurance from a value creation perspective, the strategy of insurers, and the future of the intermediary market. We will be joined by regulatory and market giants to discuss these issues. In line with Portfolio’s traditions, interesting panel discussions, presentations, and networking possibilities enable the audience of the Insurance 2024 held in late winter to discuss the future’s business opportunities and risks. In addition to insurers, insurance brokers, legal and consultant partners, IT companies and other suppliers will also find the information and opinions presented at the event interesting.

The conference will provide a forum for the most prominent players, investors, executives and business decision-makers of the Central and Eastern European venture capital and private equity sector to share and discuss market trends and will present the most topical issues with prominent players in the sector. Many exciting issues will be raised and discussed during the full-day conference. The first panel discussion will focus on non-conventional venture debt. This panel aims to explore the current role of venture debt in early-stage firms’ life cycle, outlining a number of positive synergies and the nature of complementarity between venture debt and venture capital finance. The discussion will proceed to address the future of the venture debt market. After the panel discussion, we will hear a niche presentation on the McKinsey study entitled: How Europe's fastest growing start-ups are becoming unicorns. As in previous years, a social issue indirectly related to the private equity sector will also be discussed: Áron Szilágyi, a three-time Olympic champion, will be our guest. In his presentation, he will show MEEF, the Hungarian Elite Athletes' Interest Protection Forum, an association with a purpose to develop programs for Hungarian elite athletes in cooperation with business partners and educational institutions and provide them with financial and legal advice during their active years and after retirement. There will also be an exciting panel discussion to explore the effects and benefits of featuring start-ups on TV. We will also address the leaders of HVCA/HunBAN/StartUp Hungary to highlight the role and initiatives of individual organisations within the regional VC and PE community including highlighting the impact of the three organisations on the startup ecosystem. Naturally, in addition to the interesting content, we will be waiting for you with delicious snacks, delicious coffees, and great wines during the networking breaks.
