HVCA - Portfolio Investment Conference 2022
The annual investment conference of the Hungarian Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (HVCA) is being held this year for the 23d time. It provides a forum for prominent participants, investors, executive and business decision-makers of the venture capital and private equity sector in Central and Eastern Europe for the exchange and discussion of experiences and professional networking.
The still ongoing world pandemic has a big effect on our lives and plans as does the ongoing war conflicts and associated economic sanctions.
We start the conference by analysing the short-term effects of the global economic environment on the Hungarian economy and the venture capital industry. In the long term we will assess how the domestic situation of financing early-stage investments can be improved from the point of view of international – but especially the point of view of overseas angel investors.
How Hungarian unicorn companies come into being and how they have developed. What kind of challenges are faced when a portfolio company starting from Hungary wishes to attract geographically diversified investors in different investment rounds in financing the expansion of the portfolio company?
We will look into the life of the companies after financial investor exit.
And finally, attention will be paid to labor market competition for retaining labor that also reaches the venture and private equity industries. The challenges of the home office will also be on the table.

Milyen út áll egy hazai startup előtt? Mikor jön el az exit tökéletes időpontja, egyáltalán kötelező az exit vagy más módon is tőkéhez lehet juttatni a vállalatot? A HVCA – Portfolio Investment Conference 2022 rendezvény délutáni szekcióiban panelbeszélgetésekben és előadásokban keresték a meghívottak a felvetett kérdésekre a választ. Kiderült, hogy milyen az élet egy hazai startup vezetése után egy több százezer főt foglakoztató indiai nagyvállalatnál, hogyan tud egy feltörekvő magyar szállásportál a régió meghatározó szereplőjévé válni és, hogy hogyan lehet megtartani és motiválni a munkavállalókat?

Az elmúlt 2-3 évben olyan változások mentek végbe a világgazdaságban, amelyekre korábban évtizedekig nem volt példa. A covid-járvány, az energiaválság és az általános recessziós félelmek egymást erősítve gyakorolnak hatást a befektetői piacokra. Míg a pénzbőség időszakában egy erőteljes "tőkekihelyezési kényszer" jellemezte a befektetőket, ma már megfontoltabban keresnek megfelelő vállalatokat, és számos új szempont is előtérbe került: az ESG minősítés, az iparági specifikumok egyre fontosabbá válnak, és az impact befektetések aránya is folyamatosan növekszik. A HVCA-Portfolio Investment Conference 2022 rendezvényen kormányzati szereplők, a legnagyobb hazai befektetési társaságok vezetői valamint nemzetközi szakértők elemzik a turbulens gazdasági környezet kihívásait, a befektetési trendeket és a regionális befektetési lehetőségeket.

Egy hét múlva, október 7-én kezdődik a HVCA-Portfolio Investment Conference 2022, amely a közép-és kelet európai kockázati tőke, magántőke befektetési szektorok egyik legjelentősebb regionális fóruma. A regionális befektetési stratégia lehetővé teszi, hogy nemzeti szinten jól működő vállalatok összeolvadásával európai szinten is versenyképes multinacionális cégek jöhessenek létre. A jelenlegi energiapiaci környezet felgyorsíthatja a fenntarthatósági törekvéseket, amely a befektetési piacokra is nagy hatással lehet. Nem csökken a tőkekihelyezési szándék, csak átalakul
A világgazdaságban tapasztalható bizonytalanságok alapjaiban nem rengetik meg a nemzetközi piacokat, sőt olykor nagyobb mozgástér is nyílik a befektetők számára. A megváltozott körülmények a globális startup kultúrára még pezsdítő hatást is gyakorolhatnak, a hagyományos termelő vállalkozások kerülhetnek inkább nehéz helyzetbe. Az elmúlt években tapasztalható tőkekihelyezési kényszer továbbra sem csillapodik, de előtérbe helyeződik a gyorsoság és a megfelelő helyzetfelismerés. Ma már egy vállalat sem veheti félvállról a környezeti- és társadalmi hatásokat, mert a befektetők számára már nagy értékkel bír, ha egy cég nem csak feléli a működéséhez kapcsolódó emberi és környezeti erőforrásokat, hanem élteti és segíti azok újratermelését. We warmly welcome all interested individuals over the age of 16 who are interested in the event's professional program, would like to participate, and are open to meeting new partners and high-quality networking opportunities.
You can register for our events on the portfolio.hu/rendezvenyek page on the respective event's subpage by clicking the "registration" button. Due to GDPR compliance, we can only admit participants who have registered online in advance or on-site, and (in case of paid events) have a paid ticket to the event area. Online registration is possible until midnight the day before the event; after that, we welcome interested parties on-site, where our colleagues will gladly assist at the registration desk with ticket purchases or, in the case of free events, ticket collection.
In case of full capacity, registration on the website closes, and you can only join a waiting list. In this case, on-site ticket purchases are also suspended. Our colleagues will notify registered applicants on the list about possible participation opportunities depending on available spots.

The participation fee and other costs (room booking, extras, etc.) can be paid by bank transfer or credit card payment during the registration process. It is important to know that in the two days before the event, only credit card payment is available on our website. In the case of paid events, we cannot guarantee participation without payment of the participation fee.
On the day of the event, bank card payment is also available at the registration desk with the assistance of our colleagues.
Our system automatically sends the QR code after the payment has been received and accounted for. In case of free participation, the QR code for entry is sent immediately after registration. Please check the spam, social, and other subfolders in your email system as well. The email will arrive with the subject "Entry ticket for (event name)..." from the noreply@portfolio.hu email address.
If the QR code still hasn't arrived, please check the payment, as the entry QR code is only sent after the participation fee has been paid. After verifying and confirming the payment, please contact our colleagues at rendezveny@portfolio.hu email address. We cannot provide information by phone; in such cases, we can only help in writing.
For free events, if you still cannot find the QR code after checking all folders, please contact our colleagues by email.
In case of interrupted card payment, please contact our colleagues at the above-mentioned email address. Upon request, they can issue an invoice or help restart the process.

The official language of our events is Hungarian. For foreign language presentations and international guests, we provide live or AI simultaneous interpretation in Hungarian and English. The presentation materials, to which our speakers have given their consent, will be sent in the thank-you letter after the event. Video and audio recordings will not be shared from the event. Articles and analyses about the event from our experts can be read on Portfolio.hu, Agrárszektor.hu, and Pénzcentrum.hu.
Online registration is considered an order. Participation in the event requires prior payment of the participation fee. After finalizing and submitting the registration, we do not accept cancellations, we do not refund the ticket. The participation fee must be paid even in case of absence from the event.
After full payment of the participation fee, however, participation can be transferred. In case of a name change, please write to rendezveny@portfolio.hu email address, our colleagues will send a code with which the incoming participant must also be registered on our site, according to our data management policy. On the day of the event, on-site, colleagues can also help if a name change is necessary due to a sudden event.
