Tamás Lovas graduated at the BME Faculty of Civil Engineering in 1999, received his PhD in 2005, and works as an associate professor at the Department of Photogrammetry and Geoinformatics since 2009. His research fields are laser scanning technologies (terrestrial-, mobile-, and airborne), assessment of laser scanned data sets, investigating its application fields combined with other data acquisition techniques (e.g. land surveying, UAV photogrammetry). Since 2016 he is the vice dean for education at the Faculty; engineering informatics and supporting civil engineering activities by cutting edge data acquisition methods, 3D modelling, and applying BIM are of high priority at the BME Faculty of Civil Engineering.
