Matteo Patrone

Matteo Patrone has over 25 years of experience in finance and industry. In 2008 he joined the Equity team of the EBRD where he was supervising equity transactions with a focus on Western Balkans, Poland, Turkey and Russian Federation. From October 2012 to July 2015 he was the Director of EBRD Resident Office in Serbia where the Bank has a portfolio of €2.4 billion. Since 2015 is in charge of the operations of the EBRD in Romania and Bulgaria, managing a portfolio of €2.8 billion in 250 transactions and an annual investment volume in excess of €700 million in a diversified range of industries, in the corporate, financial institutions, infrastructure and energy sectors. Prior to the EBRD he was the Managing Director of the private equity arm of Finanziaria Internazionale, an Italian merchant bank, where he spent 10 years investing in a broad range of sectors. Before that, he was a Senior Manager of Accenture Strategic Services in Milan and worked as project engineer and export sales manager in ENI and Finmeccanica in the UK and Italy. He holds an MBA from Insead and an MS degree cum laude in Mechanical Engineering from Genoa University - Italy.
