János Pócs

János Pócs, economist, after graduation at Budapest University of Economics Sciences started his carrier at Bankár Private Investment Holding: as a CFO of SASAD Cooperative Company Limited by shares he took part in the transition of the company to a landbank and property development focus. He held several positions at management level in the agricultural portfolio of Bankár. As part of his engagement he was in charge of the sale of these agricultural investments of the Group. In the course of this process he acquired 100 % of the shares  of Agárdi Farm Ltd.. On the basis of the renowned former Agárdi State Agricultural Cooperative (5,600 hectares of arable land, 1,600 head of dairy cattle), benefiting from the opportunities provided by the Hungarian joining to the EU, he made a successful turnaround in the company which resulted in the sale of the shares to Hungarian Investment Group ARAGO. He was engaged to manage the investment portfolio of Bankár from 2010. As a part of his job, he acted as the managing director of Telki Private Hospital Ltd. In 2014 he started to building his own investment portfolio as a private equity holder, as a part of which he established Spinto Hungária Ltd., a greenfield investment into a manufacturing plant producing large size, high-precision tools produced mainly for the international automotive market. He has been managing director of the company since the 2017 beginning. The uniqueness of this project lies in the challenges it has had to endure and overcome: entering into the automotive industry, one of the most competitive market in the world, solely through the investment of domestic equity holders, building technical competence on the basis of Hungarian engineering knowledge and maintaining a market presence amids severe turmoil in this sector, examples of the past few years including the diesel scandal, COVID-19 outbreak, lack of microchips, energy and supplier chain strains, . The company currently employs 90 professionals, and sells tools for customers such as BMW AG, AUDI Győr, ZF, Csabametál and Csabacast Hungarian and HANDTMAN AG and GEORG FISCHER AG German foundries. Besides his family and career he loves playing music: he has been playing on saxophone in a bigband for 15 years.
