Prof. Dr. Gabriella Medvegy

Professor Gabriella Medvegy earned her master’s degree (2003) and DLA degree (2006) and Habilitation Scientific Qualification (2010) in Architecture at the University of Pécs. She is a full professor and dean at the University of Pécs, Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology. Her responsibilities include the Architecture Programs at the University of Pécs, the external ‘Architecture Minor’ Study Programs at Metropolitan State University of Denver (Colorado, USA), ‘Pécs Innovation Class’ at the Hubei University of Technology Wuhan (China), she is supervisor at UP’s Marcel Breuer Architectural Doctoral School and a member of the “Parameterized Comfort in Physical Spaces Research Team” focusing on visual comfort, interior design, and human health. She regularly participates at international events, including the EAAE (European Association for Architectural Education) ’Research Academy’, the ENHSA (European Heads of European Schools) meetings, as well as being an invited tutor at China University Union ’Four – Four Workshop’ (China) since 2015, and session chair at the International Miklós Iványi Ph.D. & DLA Symposium since 2014. She is member of the China Building Decoration Association, the Hungarian Academy of Sciences - Regional Architecture Board, the Chamber of Hungarian Architects and Association of Hungarian Architects and appointed Honorary Member of the Hungarian Chamber of Engineers. Her work has been recognized by several awards and prizes: Order of Merit of the Republic of Hungary, ‘Knight's Cross’ (civilian division) (2020), Magyary Zoltán Postdoctoral Fellowship within the ’National Excellence Program’ (2013-2015), and ‘Junior Prime Prize’ in ‘ARCHITECTURE’ (2012).
