A Pozsonyi Commenius Egyetem Jogi Karán szerzett diplomát és egyetemi doktori címet 1985-ben. 1990–1992 között képviselő a Csehszlovák Országgyűlésben (Prága). 1994-ben a Közép-európai Alapítvány egyik megalapítója, jelenleg Igazgatótanácsának tagja. 1996-tól több szlovák vállalat ügyvezető testületében dolgozott. Számos külföldi befektető jogi tanácsadója a szlovák ipar jelentősebb átalakítási projektjeiben (US Steel, Orange Slovensko, a.s OTP, MOL), majd 2002 óta a SLOVNAFT és a MOL stratégiai partnerségét és integrációját előkészítő munkacsoport tagja. Mielőtt 2005-ben a SLOVNAFT Igazgatóságának tagja lett, a Felügyelő Bizottság tagjaként dolgozott. 2006 márciusában a SLOVNAFT vezérigazgatójává nevezték ki. 2010. áprilistól a MOL-csoport Executive Board tagja lett. A 2012-ben megalapított Szlovák-Magyar Kereskedelmi és Ipari Kamara elnöke, továbbá a Szlovák Kereskedelmi és Ipari Kamara igazgatóságának elnöki is. A komáromi Selye János Egyetem Igazgatótanácsának tagjává 2010 novemberében nevezték ki. 2015-től tagja a Pozsonyi Comenius Egyetem Igazgatótanácsának.
