Ákos Péter Bod is Director of the Institute of Economics at Corvinus University of Budapest, university professor and Head of the Department of Economic Policy. He obtained his economics degree in 1975 in Budapest, worked in a research institute, taught at universities in Hungary and abroad until 1990, worked as a UN consultant in developing countries. He was Minister of Industry and Trade in 1990-1991. He was Governor of the Hungarian National Bank between 1991 and 1994. In 1995-1997, he was member of the Board at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in London. After that he has returned to teaching. Since 2014, he is doctor of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. Besides teaching he is member of the Board at Akadémiai Kiadó (Academy Publisher), member of several supervisory boards, sits on various editorial boards of scholarly journals, and he is Deputy President of the Hungarian Economics Association.
