International trains in Hungary stopped and checked after bomb threat

A man told the Hungarian police on Wednesday that a bomb was planted on one of the international trains on the Hungarian network. The police is checking every international train which led to a temporary halt of all the affected trains as of 9:30 A.M., the state railway company (MÁV) announced.
Once the cars are checked, the trains will be on their way again. Until midnight on Wednesday, the policy is sweeping every international train at the border therefore delays should be expected, MÁV said, asking for the passengers’ understanding and patience.

The police said that over a bomb threat they asked MÁV to halt 18 international trains. The cars were emptied and passengers were escorted to safe locations. The police said they were done with investigating the trains shortly before 1 P.M., and the railway company confirmed that the checking of international trains at the border will continue and delays can be expected.
