CORRECTION - Poland's Alumetal to set up EUR 28.5 million plant in Hungary

Portfolio
In an article headlined ‘Poland’s Alumetal to set up EUR 28.5 million plant in Hungary ’ Portfolio provided false information about Alumetal’s Greenfield investment in Komárom on 10 October 2014.
As requested, Portfolio publishes the following correction.

“The Chairman of the Company- CEO Szymon Adamczyk did not state that “the plant will supply raw materials for engines, primarily for Nemak, a Mexican-owned cylinder head manufacturer operating in the nearby city of Győr."

The Chairman never mentioned that the co-operation between Alumetal and Nemak was involved or intended to be undertaken with regard to the project in Komárom, especially not on a press conference concerning Alumetal’s investment in Komárom."

In fact, the above quote was never explicitly attributed to Adamczyk by Portfolio. This specific remark was attributed to Róbert Ésik, President of the Hungarian Investment Promotion Agency (HIPA), who was, in fact, not quoted appropriately and by name on this particular occasion.

"The plant in Komárom is going to supply the Nemak company, headquartered in Győr, with raw materials for engines," HIPA itself said in a press release.

Besides the numerous Hungarian websites that reported on this story, the same information was shared by BBJ, 4traders.com, itlgroup.eu (Italian) and bizpoland.pl just to mention a few other news portals.
