FHB to change name to Takarék

Portfolio
Mortgage bank FHB Jelzálogbank closed 2017 with consolidated losses of HUF 8.2 bn amidst growing loan stock, increased interest revenue, hugely decreased risk costs and slightly lower operating costs, the company's annual report, published late on Thursday in preparation for the upcoming AGM, shows. The loss is roughly half of the previous year's and contains a substantial provision for an IT project, without which the result would be significantly better.
At the AGM, shareholders of FHB Jelzálogbank will vote about changing the company's name to Takarék Jelzálogbank Nyrt., and its retail subsidiary FHB Kereskedelmi Bank will be renamed Takarék Kereskedelmi Bank Zrt.

FHB Jelzálogbank increased its interest revenue by 9% last year and managed to cut its risk costs by nearly 80% compared to 2016, while its stock of loans grew 5.5% including a doubling of refinanced loans. Meanwhile, other operating costs grew by HUF 3.8 bn, largely due to IT costs related to joining the unified banking IT system.
