Krones AG, a Germany-based designer, developer and manufacturer of processing, packaging and bottling machines and systems, is to build its second European plant in Debrecen, eastern Hungary, Krones Hungary Ltd. managing director Pascal Männche has announced on Tuesday.
The Hungarian government is subsidising the project with about 5.5 billion forints, i.e. 37% of the total investment cost of HUF 15 billion (EUR 46.46 mn), said Tamás Menczer, state secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade “in charge of providing information about and presenting Hungary abroad".
Lucky for us. It’s awful to think where the country could end up if it had no state secretary to provide essential information about and present Hungary for dumb foreigners. Can you imagine that? Hungary would be just an odd-looking, small white spot on the world map. - What’s that empty space, John? I have no clue, Liam. Why don’t we ask Mr. Menczer? I’m fairly certain he can sort us out. Debrecen mayor László Papp added that Krones AG is the first business that starts building a factory in the city’s southern industrial zone which has been recently established adjacent to the international airport of Debrecen.
