Publicly traded IT company OTT-One will create a protected, qualified server center, the company announced. The project, which is expected to be completed by Q2 2019, will cost HUF 1.1 billion.
OTT-One will buy more than 800 servers of various kinds and will install these in the protected server room. The investment is due to the continued growth of the company's streaming business, as it will serve existing and potential new customers using its own servers instead of rented ones.
Another area of use will be OTT-One's upcoming online education projects, which require a high-capacity closed-chain video system running on safe servers. The new servers will also offer a boost to OTT-One's security division, as they will also function as back-end servers to the company's blockchain-based security solutions.
OTT-One will finance the project from its own sources and expects to see a return on its investment in two or three years.
