Audi's Ingolstadt plant out of commission also on Friday

Due to the strike in Győr, Audi will not be able to fire up the production lines in Ingolstadt on Friday, either, the company informed its employees on a hotline created for the duration of the Hungarian workers’ walk-out. Moreover, there will be no production in the extra shift planned for Sunday, either, it added.

The Hungarian strike is affecting other plants of the Volkswagen Group too:

• production at Audi’s other German plant in Neckarsulm is uninterrupted on Lines B, C, and D until the middle of the week, but it is unclear whether it can be continued after that;
• the manufacturing of Audi R8 models in the plant near Heilbronn is suspended on Tuesday and Wednesday
• the Bratislava-based VW plant’s operation is also affected by the strike that prevents parts to be delivered there from Győr. So far, the walk-out has impacted the manufacturing of luxury SUVs, city car production remains intact.
