Hungary 4iG wins HUF 2.4 billion state contract

Hungary's listed IT company 4iG, tied to tycoon Lőrinc Mészáros, a friend and ally of Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, has won yet another public procurement tender. This time a deal worth nearly HUF 2.4 billion.

The procurement was invited by the Governmental Information Technology Development Agency (KIFÜ) in scope of the EU's Economic Development and Innovation Operational Programme (EDIOP or GINOP in Hungarian). The project won is worth HUF 2,382,806,000 forints plus VAT.

The project is for the "acquisition of active network tools and related services" in the "Diákháló" ("Student Net") programme, including fixed-line and wireless network development for public education and training institutions. 

4iG's share price rose by more than 4% today and gained a whopping 77% so far this year.
