COVID-19: More than 900 new cases in Hungary
There were 927 new confirmed COVID-19 cases over the last 24 hours, taking the total to 22,127.

Coronavirus claimed nine lives yesterday, the youngest of whom was a 57-year-old man and the oldest a 90-year-old woman. Seven of the nine deceased were over 70. The death toll is now up at 718.

More than 11 samples were tested over the last 24 hours in Hungary which implies that 8% of them came back positive.


4,945 of the more than 22,000 confirmed COVID-19 cases have recovered. The number of active cases is currently 16,464.

577 coronavirus patients are in hospital, up from 549 a day earlier, and 30 of them are on ventilators.

Budapest accounts for 38% of active cases, 55% of the deceased and 39% of recovered patients.
Most new cases were diagnosed in Budapest (281), followed by Győr-Moson-Sopron county (111), Pest county (90), Csongrád-Csanád (58), Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén (54) while authorities detected fewer than 50 cases in the rest of the other counties.
