Interactive Brokers introduces low, simple stock pricing in Europe

Portfolio
New York-based FX and CFD broker Interactive Brokers is focusing on building its European customer base by introducing a new simplified pricing structure for stocks that is tailored to individual investor priorities. The first markets to benefit from the new fee structure are those investing on the Western European exchanges, with Central European and Nordic markets to follow soon, IB told Portfolio.

The new commission rates are available with IB SmartRoutingSM, which optimizes the execution quality for clients by accessing the many exchanges and trading venues across the continent, providing institutional-level pricing for individual investors.

The new pricing: EUR 3 or GBP 3 per trade for trades up to EUR/GBP 6,000 in value. Larger trades will be commissioned at 0.05% of trade value.

Interactive Brokers prioritizes both individual and institutional investors. This new fixed pricing structure is offered alongside IB’s current tiered pricing, and IB invites its customers to review both options to choose the one that best fits their investing objectives.
