Wood makes it to the top of brokerage ranking in Hungary
The Russian-Ukrainian war, which has been going on for more than two months, the resulting growing food supply crisis, global inflation and the global shortage of raw materials are weighing heavily on stock market performance.
International trends have also had an impact on the BUX index, the leading stock index of the Budapest Stock Exchange, which closed at 43,470 points in April, down 2.8% on March. The highest daily value was recorded on 4 April, when the index closed at 45,398 points.
Among the blue chips, OTP Bank again stood out, with a turnover of nearly HUF 204 billion, accounting for 64.6% of the total stock market turnover. In second place, with a 4.4% increase in share price compared to the March close, was Mol with HUF 67.9 billion, while Richter came in third with HUF 33.7 billion traded during the month.
Overall, the spot market saw a turnover of HUF 315.6 billion in April, equivalent to an average of 16.6 billion forints per day. In terms of duplicated turnover, this represents a total turnover of HUF 631.3 billion.

Wood&Company topped the ranking of investment service providers in April, with a turnover of HUF 161.8 billion, while Concorde and Erste Bank came in second and third with HUF 161.1 bn and HF 121.8 bn, respectively.

Of the top three investment service providers with the highest turnover, all three saw their turnover fall compared to March, which is not surprising given that the highest monthly turnover on the stock market since 2007 was recorded in March.

This means that Wood's market share was 25.6%, essentially on a par with Concorde, which accounted for 25.5% of turnover, and Erste snatched the third place with a market share of 19.3%.

The goods market has had a strong month, with turnover almost doubling compared to March. The futures section, including sustainable feed corn, accounted for 100% of this with a turnover of HUF 957.3 million.
