Hanon Systems, one of South Korea's largest automotive suppliers, will create 250 new jobs in Székesfehérvár, Pécs and Rétság with a HUF 43 billion (EUR 112.7 mn) investment, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó said in Budapest on Friday.

A statement by the ministry cited Szijjártó as saying that the project of the company, which manufactures vehicle parts, will include various improvements and capacity expansions, as well as comprehensive training for 200 workers.

The investment of around HUF 43 billion will be supported by the state with a HUF 5.7 billion grant, thus contributing to the creation of 250 new jobs, he said.

He noted that Hanon Systems has 53 factories in 21 countries around the world, so Hungary was in fierce competition for the investment. Winning this project is also important because Hanon Systems and other South Korean companies play a major role in boosting the performance of the domestic automotive industry, he added.
