China's BYD is rapidly expanding in Hungary, inks deal with car dealership
Schiller's BYD dealership will open in the northern part of Pest in February.
The Schiller Group is BYD's third partner in Hungary. The Chinese company launched distribution in Hungary last October with its first two dealerships, Duna Auto and Wallis Motor.
More retail partners will join the BYD network nationwide in the coming months,
the company added.
BYD expects that the state incentive programme for electric cars, available from February, will make the brand attractive to Hungarian companies, with all three current BYD models eligible for the HUF 4 million incentive, they said.
BYD is taking swift steps to ensure that its future service network will be easily accessible to owners living or working outside the capital, the statement said.
In addition to car sales, BYD is already present in Hungary with bus production and a battery assembly plant, and at the end of last year it was announced that a car factory would be built in Szeged.
