Hungarian shares enter a Vienna stock exchange index
From 23 September, the composition of the CECE index, a regional index of the Vienna Stock Exchange, will change.
Poland's Alior and Budimex are included, but more importantly for domestic investors, AutoWallis and Waberer's are also included. The former has a weight of 0.09% and the latter 0.07%.
There are 4 stocks that are being excluded from the index: the Polish mBank and PGE, the Czech Primoco and Hungary's Masterplast.
The CECE index includes securities from the region, with the weight of Polish equities currently at 56%, the Czech weight at 25% and the Hungarian weight at 19%.
The index currently has 29 members, with Hungarian stocks including OTP, Mol, Richter, Magyar Telekom, Opus, Masterplast, 4iG and ANY Security Printing.
The financial sector has the largest weight in the index (56%).
The inclusion of a stock in the index can have a positive impact on investor interest by bringing it into the focus of international investors.
