MBH Bank provided a loan for the Spanish far-right party Vox's campaign
The far-right party itself admitted to the Spanish newspaper the fact of the €9.2 million loan from MBH Bank for their 2023 parliamentary and municipal election campaign. Pepa Millán, the party's spokesman,
justified the loan from the Hungarian credit institution by saying that they could not obtain credit from Spanish sources.
The two loans, of €6.7 million and €2.6 million, have since been repaid by the party, which in July moved from the ECR group in the European Parliament to the Patriots for Europe group, which was founded with Fidesz in the European Parliament.
MBH Bank's predecessor, MKB Bank, has previously granted a similar loan: the French far-right party National Rally (Rassemblement National), led by Marine Le Pen, received a €10.6 million loan from the company.
