BudAir strikes deal with employees, averts strike
The gross average wage of an employee at Budapest Airport was HUF 241,660 in July. The company increased wages for employees by 12% year on year in 2002, 11.46% in 2003 and 13.8% last year.
The agreement on the 17% annual pay rise means that employees will have their salary increased by 10% with retroactive effect to 1 July, as they have already been given a hike of 6.62%.
BudAir said that on top of the wage increase, they next year they would also grant workers HUF 417,000 in tax-free benefits, mostly for holidays (HUF 57,000) and meals (HUF 30,000).
