Hungary national airline Malév up for sale again
The state agency said Malév's future could be primarily ensured by “a well-capitalized investor" who would “substantially" raise the airline's capital.
The invitation for the tender will appear in two local dailies and both the European and Asian issues of the Financial Times.
Hungary has helped Malév with over HUF 16 billion over the past six years, yet the airline is still HUF 30 billion in debt and has not posted a profit since the 1990s.
Hungary's last attempt to sell the air carrier a year ago was called off after the government failed to reach an agreement with KrasAir, Russia's fourth-largest airline.
