Paralleling the 5-month peak of the forint today, Hungary's secondary government bond market saw plummeting yields, State Debt Management Agency (ÁKK) data reveal. This trend mostly reflects to the optimism that currently prevails in global markets, which has also manifested itself in strong demand at ÁKK T-bill auctions since yesterday.
While the yields of 3, 6 and 12-month treasury bills declined by a very small degree, 3-month and longer bonds saw an intense decrease in benchmark yields by 16-24 bp this morning, the agency said.
Yields saw the sharpest decline in the case of 10-year government bonds, down to a 1-month low of 9.74%.
