GE subsidiary to move manufacturing to Hungary
GE acquired Zenon in 2006, since when the unit has been operating as GE Power & Water manufacturing water purifiers such as ZeeWeed among other products. Plans are to move production of the latest version of ZeeWeed to Oroszlány soon.
The GE Group has endured major losses in after-tax profit in 2009 yr/yr with recession impacting various units differently. While its energy business generated 13% more profit than a year earlier, its technology business shrank 8% despite the positive impact of a more powerful US dollar. The financial arm of the group has also suffered major setbacks.
