The audience of the Budapest Economic Forum conference, which hosted key local and international policymakers to discuss the economic outlook for Hungary and worldwide, have been asked about one of the most pressing issues of today, namely the future of the euro. Before his presentation, Zsolt Darvas, research fellow at the Bruegel Institute.has asked whether the decisions of Wednesday’s EU Summit will alleviate the euro area’s sovereign debt and banking crisis in the coming weeks, what future lies ahead of Greece and how the audience sees the euro in 2020. Zsolt Darvas was one of the speakes at today’s Portfolio.hu conference. He is a resident Scholar at the Brussels-based think-tank ‘Bruegel’ (Brussels European and Global Economic Laboratory) since 2009. He is also Research Fellow at the Institute of Economics of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences and Associate Professor at the Corvinus University of Budapest.
