80% of Hungarians are of the view that the country is headed the wrong way. While those in favour of the governing party are less gloomy but still 40% of the ruling Fidesz party’s supporters still say this is not exactly what they bargained for, Medián’s June survey showed on Thursday.
The approval rating of Fidesz among eligible voters is 21%, while the opposition Socialist Party (MSZP) enjoys a 15% support, far-right Jobbik party has a 10% voter base and green party LMP would get 6% of the votes if elections were held this Sunday.
The ratio of those who cannot pick a party or would not vote for any of them rose to 44%, the highest in ten years. Only 40% of the respondents said they would turn up at the voting booths and a mere 30% would go and also know which party can expect an ‘X’ from them.
Among eligible voters with party preference Fidesz has a 37% approval rating vs. MSZP’s 27%, Jobbik’s 20% and LMP’s 9%.
