Fidesz can make a promise that after a decision by the Constitutional Court and the Curia a solution to the problem of foreign currency loans can be found by the end of the next [governing] cycle, an MP of Hungary’s ruling Fidesz party said on Wednesday.
Gergely Gulyás, deputy faction leader of the Fidesz party told commercial broadcaster TV2 today morning that when remedying the FX mortgage problem the stability of the banking system needs to be observed.

The politician said the party welcomes the ruling of the Constitutional Court on FX loans for it allows lawmakers to have the content of the loan contracts modified.

The soonest a law amendment in this respect can be made is May, because the cabinet will have to wait for a ruling to be delivered by the European Court of Justice and the Curia [Hungary’s Supreme Court], he added.
