Here's how much the drastic hike to the supervision fee will cost Tesco, Auchan, Spar and the rest

Portfolio
Making the supervision fee payable by food retail chains progressive could bring the state additional 24 billion forint in budget revenues next year, so this levy will place HUF 33 bn in state coffers in 2015, the Fiscal Responsibility Institute Budapest (FRIB) projected in its latest analysis published on Wednesday.
So far, the government has not published any estimates as to how much additional revenues the changes to supervision fee rules will generate for the budget.

FRIB analysts expect total revenues of HUF 33 bn from this special fee, HUF 24.3 bn over the target of HUF 9 bn that would be collected under current regulations.

The planned legislation will mostly burden the largest retail chains that operate as single business entities. As the FRIB found no breakdown available on the share of fast-moving consumer goods (FMCGs) in total sales, the analysts had to use assumptions that these products generate 66% of total revenue at Tesco, Auchan and Metro, and 95% at the other units. The average ratio for the nine largest retailers is 80%, the FRIB explained.
