Hungary shopping ban restricts delivery of web orders too - ministry

Local news portal index.hu reported on Monday that retail chains, such as Tesco, CBA or G’Roby, may respond to the Sunday shopping ban by delivering online orders also on Sundays and in hours when the stores themselves must be closed. Well, they cannot.
As a response, the National Economy Ministry said on Tuesday that although customers may place their orders online any time they want, but delivery cannot take place between 10 P.M. and 6 A.M. or on public holidays and Sundays. The reason for this restriction is that the subject of the new legislation is retail commerce regardless whether this activity is pursued on a permanent basis or occasionally and whether it is on a permanent or an alternating venue.
Retail commerce means the sale of products and directly related services, i.e. stacking up the goods for delivery or delivering them. Delivering goods ordered online is no exception, whereas supplying stocks for stores is.
