Hungarian Parliament to tackle bill that seeks to ban Uber
On the basis of the bill the municipal and county government offices would be granted the right to block Internet content providing access to operator services such as Uber. Undre the bill, the blocking would be done by the National Media and Communication Authority, the same way it does in the case of criminal cases and illegal gambling sites.
Uber drivers who get caught would receive 9 penalty points, the same as if they had caused an accident. It takes 18 points to lose your driver’s licence. Uber has recently collected 30 000 signatures in protest of the government’s plan to ban the service.
