Hungary's Top10 webshops in 2016
The think tank examined online stores which sell physical goods, whose prices are in forint, are in Hungarian language, pursue active marketing and have local headquarters or representation.
Net sales are for 2016 and comprise only online sales. The Top10 were selected after examining 1,600 companies.
The Top10 webshops had some five million successful transactions last year, generating turnover of nearly HUF 110 billion, which means an average transaction was HUF 22,000.
Although net revenues did growth in 2016, the rate of the increase decelerated. Sales soared by nearly 73% year on year in 2015, whereas last year the revenue growth of the Top10 came in at only 20% on average. Some of them boosted their sales by less than the whole sector’s 18% average growth.
