Hungary's Orbán meets President, addresses cabinet composition

Security remains first priority

The most important goal of the new cabinet is to preserve the security and Christian culture of the country, said Prime Minister Viktor Orbán. He added he would do everything to make sure the will of the Hungarian voters take effect.

I’ll use the two-thirds [legislative majority] to represent three thirds of the country

14-member government

Today, Orbán has officially accepted the President’s request to form a government.

I would like to set up a cabinet that consists of 14 people, seven of whom hail from within politics and seven from outside politics

, said Orbán.

This was the first time in Hungary the head of the election-winning party and the President have held a joint press conference after the election.
