Főtaxi buys rival Budapest Taxi
The two companies will both retain their brand names but work under a joint system. Főtaxi, which has been transporting passengers for 105 years, has already been market leader with a 1,500-strong fleet that grows to about 2,000 by the acquisition of Budapest Taxi. The transaction will not cause any change that would appear to the passengers of either companies.
The harmonisation of the parties’ systems and operations is going to take place over the next few months. Főtaxi Group will keep passengers and corporate partners posted about the related measures. Their service contracts will remain in effect with unchanged conditions.
After the merger of 6x6 Taxi and Taxiplus, 6x6 head of business Tibor Fárbás talked about further consolidation opportunities, estimating that in the longer run two to three taxi companies could remain standing on the market.Front page photo by MTI / Imre Földi
