Hungary would raise minimum wage to HUF 150,000 in 2019 - paper
The guaranteed wage minimum is currently HUF 180,500 which means the raise would be 11.9%, if the paper is right about this. The minimum wage would be hiked 8.7% from the current gross HUF 180,500.
The paper has also reported about the labour situation at retail chains, saying that wage talks between the employers and the trade unions are in progress. Employees want to receive a basic salary of gross HUF 220,000.
Reaching a wage agreement could be hampered by the fact that the government is scheduled to reveal its own plans about the minimum wage hike only at the end of November or early December.
