COVID-19 in Hungary: no fatalities on Thursday

Hungarian authorities confirmed two new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) infection on Thursday, the official government website said. There were no fatalities in the past 24 hours for the first time since 27 March. The number of active cases is now 932.

There were just 2 new cases reported in Hungary yesterday, increasing the total to 4,081. The number of deceased remains at 568, while 2,581 people have recovered from the disease. The number of active cases is 932, with 39% of them in Budapest. There are 192 coronavirus patients in hospital, with 15 on ventilators.

Wearing masks remains mandatory in stores and on public transport. All stores, restaurants, hotels, movies and theatres, spas, swimming pools etc. may now receive customers without restrictions. Music or dance events are limited to no more than 500 people. Free parking will remain in effect in all of Hungary until 1 July.

Hungarian citizens returning from any country will no longer be put in home quarantine, and the travel restrictions on healthcare and law enforcement workers and government officials has also been lifted.
