There were 16 new coronavirus (COVID-19) infections identified on Monday, increasing the total to 4,205. This has been the highest daily increase since 7 June. While 16 is still not a very high number, any further increase would give cause for concern.

The number of deceased remains at 589 as no fatalities were reported for the third day in a row, while 2,874 people have recovered from the virus.

The number of active cases is 742, 39% of whom are in Budapest. There are 142 coronavirus patients treated in hospital, with 7 of them on ventilators.
