New solar park inaugurated in Hungary
Heliosys Hungary Group and Greentechnic Hungary have set up a new solar park in an area between Csengerháza and Kányástelep, in Nógrád county. The Hungarian Solar Collector Association (MNNSz), the largest representative body of solar power companies with over 300 members, has also taken part in the inauguration of the facility on Monday. Greentechnic is one of the founding members of the association.
The solar park is situated on a 50-hectare plot that is classified as pasture and was used for the grazing of cows and sheep. The facility, with 40 mini photovoltaic plants with 500 kWp (kilowatt peak) each, with total power capacity of 20 MW
is to ensure the total electricity demand of 11,000 families for at least 25 years.
The area remains in agricultural use, and the operator will continue to maintain the land by the grazing of sheep.
With this project the Slovakian group of investors has reached total solar power capacity of 70 MW in Hungary.
