Inflation is eating away at earnings in Hungary

Gross earnings grew by 8% in the business sector. In the budgetary sector the increase was higher, 9.4%, due to scheduled wage raises in certain government branches.

According to Portfolio’s calculations, the net median wage was HUF 222,400 in September. (The median wage is lower than the average as extremely high salaries boost the latter but not the former.)
